Bad Elly

Elly has been getting into lots of trouble the last couple of days. It seems she finally decided to act like a really bratty teenager. She chased the kitten hard — now charlie is a bit scared of the dog and we don’t dare leave them together unsupervised. And then she chewed on the couch pillow. Ugly chewing, lots of stuffing lost. I can fix it and we can hide the damage. But it’s disappointing, the couches looks so nice in our living room. First time in our married life where we had a good living room set and now one of the pillows is damaged. Bad Elly.

Welcome to my life. My life as a mom is changing as the kids grow up, leave home, and build their own lives. This gives me a chance to rebuild myself as an artist, develop a spiritual path, and most fun of all, start going out on dates with my husband. Come here the stories about the small things in life that can make one very happy. Dogs running on a beach, great breakfast dates, kids and their adventures, and my own adventures in this wacky life. I'll share some of my progress in learning art while juggling a full time job as an engineer. And best of all, it's a chance for me to practice writing stories while keeping in touch with my kids. I look forward to hearing from you. Comments, thoughts, and invitations to meet for coffee are all welcomed. Enjoy the stories.

  1. Do you think she is feeling threatened by Charlie’s presence, that maybe you won’t love her any more? Just like a little child.

    1. No, it’s not malicious. Elly looks at the kitten as another toy — something to chase and then play with. A bratty kid, but not mean. And she’s not threatened by the kitten. She is very wary of Sophia. Sophia has made it clear that she does not like the dog and wants the dog to remain well away from her. And Sally, our black cat, has nothing to do with the dog. Of course, Sally has little to with most of us except she insists on being fed at regular intervals and sleeping on Kate’s bed.
