Dog Walking, Lohmann Style

Elly, our dog, adores this place. Lots of space to run, beautiful crunchy cold lawns, running water, big fields, and everything doggy. Way too much mud; she needs to get cleaned off every time she ventures outside. And her energy level is at full on. No stopping or resting for her. In fact, she gets like an overwrought child, frantically racing around. She loves running outside, freezing her butt off.

Evidently this is a common reaction among dogs. And my folks have a solution called the mule. It’s a quick and easy way to run the dogs for several miles. Pile everyone into the little cart and make the dogs follow. They love it. I have trouble watching, I’m always scared the dogs will get in front of the wheels and get run over. So I don’t participate although I did get some pictures. Enjoy the spectacle.

Welcome to my life. My life as a mom is changing as the kids grow up, leave home, and build their own lives. This gives me a chance to rebuild myself as an artist, develop a spiritual path, and most fun of all, start going out on dates with my husband. Come here the stories about the small things in life that can make one very happy. Dogs running on a beach, great breakfast dates, kids and their adventures, and my own adventures in this wacky life. I'll share some of my progress in learning art while juggling a full time job as an engineer. And best of all, it's a chance for me to practice writing stories while keeping in touch with my kids. I look forward to hearing from you. Comments, thoughts, and invitations to meet for coffee are all welcomed. Enjoy the stories.
