Encomium aka a perfect pairing

High Praise or tribute, encomium. That is what this pairing deserves. A perfectly made ritz cracker cookie (with PB in the middle) and a glass of wine. Better yet, Kat did all the work while I got to drink wine and watch. It does not get better than this. Of course, I had to work as well. Kat was asking me to provide definitions to her SAT / English 10 vocabulary words. Got about 50% correct, perhaps a few more. And when I did not know the answer, I could always make up a good explanation. Thus the word Encomium. Anyway, be jealous of the cookies, they are great.

Welcome to my life. My life as a mom is changing as the kids grow up, leave home, and build their own lives. This gives me a chance to rebuild myself as an artist, develop a spiritual path, and most fun of all, start going out on dates with my husband. Come here the stories about the small things in life that can make one very happy. Dogs running on a beach, great breakfast dates, kids and their adventures, and my own adventures in this wacky life. I'll share some of my progress in learning art while juggling a full time job as an engineer. And best of all, it's a chance for me to practice writing stories while keeping in touch with my kids. I look forward to hearing from you. Comments, thoughts, and invitations to meet for coffee are all welcomed. Enjoy the stories.

  1. You are taunting me with what I missed! Looks fabulous. I’m drooling as I write this! I did, however, have a wonderful afternoon with my grandson. Among other things, we went for an invigorating romp/stroll at Carslbad Beach. It was so energizing. Thought about you. Hope we can do the same soon.
