Dog Beach — Wed 26 Sept 2012

On Wednesday afternoon, Bob and his dad (Dave) met up with a large group of golden retrievers at the Del Mar Dog beach.  This meet-up was an outing to let the dogs go swimming off leash.  They took Elle and Dave’s (aka Kat’s dog) Mitzi with them.  You can see them in the picture below.  Look for two guys standing next to each other both wearing hats.  Mitzi is the outlier — she’s a cocker spaniel crashing a golden retriever party.

By the way, we did not take any of these pictures.  They were posted by the meet-up organizer Sue and can be found at:

The dogs had a wonderful time as did the men.  You can see them below in the distance as well as all the happy dogs.  Bob says it was chaos, all the dogs racing around. Woe betide the dog owner who lost track of their dog. They all started looking about the same when wet, bedraggled, and in the middle of a pack of other golden retrievers.

This is not our dog; but I like the picture.  The dog looks so happy.  Ours had a good time as well, she came home an exhausted wretch.  There were no stall tactics about bedtime on Wednesday night.

Welcome to my life. My life as a mom is changing as the kids grow up, leave home, and build their own lives. This gives me a chance to rebuild myself as an artist, develop a spiritual path, and most fun of all, start going out on dates with my husband. Come here the stories about the small things in life that can make one very happy. Dogs running on a beach, great breakfast dates, kids and their adventures, and my own adventures in this wacky life. I'll share some of my progress in learning art while juggling a full time job as an engineer. And best of all, it's a chance for me to practice writing stories while keeping in touch with my kids. I look forward to hearing from you. Comments, thoughts, and invitations to meet for coffee are all welcomed. Enjoy the stories.
